Exciting changes for 2017!

Hi Everyone!

I wanted to write up a quick note to all of my beloved past, current and possibly future clients. I am making a few changes within "Whimsey Photography" and I wanted you to be the very first to know! 

I have a lot of exciting opportunities coming my way within the next year and over 25 weddings and 3 destination weddings already booked for 2017. Super exciting! 

I have decided to officially change my business name from "Whimsey Photography" to "Cana Dunlap Photography". I am sure you have a few questions, so let's dive right in!

Why "Cana Dunlap" instead of "Cana McDonald"?

Dunlap is my maiden (now legally my middle name).  As some of you might already know, I have a brother, Seth Dunlap, who is a phenomenal wedding videographer. Check out his website sethdunlap.com. YEAH. He's good. We are gearing up towards working more together, as a photo + video bro & sis team, in the coming years, so that's a big part of why I chose to work under my middle/maiden name. It also helps keep my personal life slightly more private by not having my legal married name out and about on my work. :)

As a client, what changes should we expect?

Other than the brand and business name, nothing! I am still the same girl, with the same heart, taking the same photos. If I am being honest, since making this change, I have never been more excited. I feel like my work and photography are evolving into such an exciting place. I have arrived at a place professionally where I can really make such sweet connections with my clients and have truly found a way to tell my clients stories in the way they deserve to be told. In a heartfelt, genuine and authentic way...With plenty of swoon-worthy light, of course!
 

Any other exciting news you can share? 

UM, yeah! SO many new and exciting ventures that I cannot wait to share with you guys. One of which is the announcement of my new, super cool "Cana Dunlap Photography" Associate Photographer, Rian! Rian (pronounced RYAN) is actually one of my former clients/brides, turned BFF. She expressed an interest in photography a few years ago and has been shooting and training under me ever since. She is officially accepting weddings for "Cana Dunlap Photography" and has quite a few booked for 2017 already! We are stoked and I am so pumped to be able to offer my clients another lead photographer option for dates when I am already booked. More info to come on this announcement soon. I can't wait to officially introduce Rian (she's got a heart of gold, ya'll) to you guys and explain exactly what an "Associate Photographer" is all about. 

I spent so many hours working on my website over this last month. I was intent on designing and building my website on my own. I have such a desire for it to be a true reflection of who I am, as a photographer and as a person. So go take a look and let me know what you think! I hope it reflects my heart and my passion for what I do and for my clients.
