Mallory & Nate | Downtown Charleston Engagement | Charleston Wedding Photographer

Sometimes you meet one of those people that you just really click with. Mallory just happened to be one of those people. She and I met one day over lunch and we literally spent at least an hour chatting. Ever since then, I have been eagerly awaiting their engagement shoot. Mallory is such a sweet soul and Nate had an awesome, chill personality, so you can imagine that we had an easy-going and AMAZINGLY fun shoot! To top it off, the rain that day cleared just in time for our shoot, which made for a beautiful evening with some gorgeous golden sunlight (so Whimsey-licious)! Not to mention, Mallory looks absolutely stunning (don't you just love her long, wavy, red locks?!)! One of our favorite makeup artists ever, Pamela Lesch, did Mallory's makeup - she's incredible as you can see! I am beyond thrilled to shoot their wedding next year and am so honored to know this couple!

Laurie & Colin {Kiawah Island | Engagement}

I'm so excited to be sharing this lovely Kiawah Island engagment session with you all today! There's no better way to start out a Wednesday ;) Laurie & Colin met 5 years ago at a birthday party. Laurie had gone to the party as a guest of her sister, with absolutely no intention of meeting her future husband that night. But little did she know, she would. They ended up talking and mingling at the party, which led to a date just 3 days later! Isn't that usually how love happens though? I've had the opportunity to work with so many amazing people, Laurie and Colin included, and it seems that most of my clients' stories have one similar thread running through - when we are free to love and live our life, a lasting love shows up when we are not expecting it...at all.

These two love birds wanted to have their session on Kiawah Island, which was great, because I enjoyed exploring a destination that I don't normally get to shoot at. These guys were so fun and laid back, and I can't wait to work with them more!

Enjoy the loveliness!

Emily & Jon {Downtown Charleston | Engagement}

Emily and Jon met in their college days. Though they didn't attend the same college, their schools were very close in distance. One day they met downtown and kept in touch. Unintentionally, they would bump into each other here and there, until they finally decided to go out. The chemistry between this couple is so refreshing. Even while I was snapping away, it was clear to me that these two were really in love. At their request, we headed over to the battery at one point to capture some gorgeous shots of the spot where Jon popped the question. I love that - these pictures are so personalized and meaningful to these guys, and those are my favorite kind of photos! At the end of our session, it began to rain, and we ended up hiding out where we could keep dry. Thankfully, the rain held off until towards the end of our shoot! We made the best of that dreary weather by chatting and getting to know each other better. I really enjoyed my time with these two, and I can't wait to capture the beauty of their wedding day!

Christy & Jamie {High Cotton Wedding | Charleston SC}

Christy and Jamie were married in the private courtyard of High Cotton Restaurant in downtown Charleston, with their reception to follow in the French Quarter Room. Before I delve into the details of their sweet, intimate wedding, can I first say that I loved working with these guys?! From the moment I met them, I could tell they were star-struck in love. We roamed around downtown, and I'm not sure who had more fun. I mean, what photographer doesn't love it when the bride says, "Can we run out and take a photo in the middle of the road?" Christy was very involved in planning the details of this gorgeous wedding, and with the help of her mother and aunt, they made the whole day a success. Christy's flowers had a wildflower inspiration feel with a pop of bright pink, and both Christy and Jamie's children carried classic Charleston sweetgrass flowers, wrapped in burlap. How amazing is their cake? Can you believe it was made by one of Christy's friends? I know, my jaw dropped as well when I learned that fact. Have fun swooning over these photos!

Thank you to Christy and Jamie for allowing me to participate in the beauty of your big day! All the best to the both of you as you begin your lives together in marriage!
