Frequently asked questions.
Charleston Wedding, Family & Portrait Photography FAQ
How would you describe your photography style?
I create timeless, true-to-life imagery with a blend of candid storytelling and a lot of guidance and direction. My work sits right in the sweet spot — not too dark, not too bright — with an emphasis on emotion, connection, and capturing the glimmers + joy of life and love. I never over-pose or over-edit. My goal is always to capture the moment as it felt.
Do you help with posing?
Yes! I guide you through natural, flattering movement so nothing feels stiff or forced. Think of it like gentle prompts, micro-adjustments, and creating space for real moments to unfold. I’ll help you feel comfortable, confident, and relaxed so your photos reflect your personality, not a pose.
What makes your approach different?
I’m extremely detail-oriented — from timeline planning to lighting decisions to family dynamics — but I shoot with a calm, grounded presence. Clients love that I bring both structure and warmth. I’m a storyteller at heart, so I’m always looking for the sweet in-between moments that make your gallery feel alive and authentic.
How far in advance should we book you?
Most weddings book 9–18 months out. Portrait sessions typically book 4-12 weeks in advance. Spring and fall fill up quickly, so earlier is always better.
Where do you shoot?
I’m based in Charleston, SC and photograph weddings and sessions throughout the Lowcountry — from downtown’s historic streets to Folly, Isle of Palms, Kiawah, James Island, Summerville, and beyond. Travel is always an option too and I offer sweet deals for out of town weddings ☺️
What’s your turnaround time?
Sneak Peeks: 1–2 weeks
Full Wedding Gallery: 6-10 weeks
Portrait Galleries: 4–6 weeks
I deliver twice as many photos than your average photographer, so post-processing takes a little longer. I promise it is worth the wait, though! Everything is delivered in a beautiful online gallery with download and printing options.
Do you help with wedding timelines?
Yes — and I love this part. I help you build (or refine) a photography-friendly timeline to ensure plenty of space for the moments you care about most, especially first looks, family photos, bride + groom portraits, and golden hour shots.
Do you work well with planners and other vendors?
Absolutely. I’ve worked with many, many Charleston planners and venues and value being a team player. A calm, collaborative environment always leads to the best wedding-day experience.
Do you travel for weddings or sessions?
Yes! I’m available for travel throughout the Southeast and beyond. Travel fees are straightforward and discussed upfront — no surprises.
How do we book you?
Once you’ve chosen your package, I’ll send a proposal with your contract and retainer. That finalizes your date and we’re officially working together! After that, we plan, dream, and build a seamless experience that feels completely you.
What types of photography sessions do you offer?
I photograph weddings and elopements, engagement sessions, family sessions, maternity sessions, and in-home newborn sessions across the Charleston area. I also offer my “Oh, Baby” collection, which pairs your maternity session with your newborn session so I’m with you for that whole season.
Do you photograph families in Charleston?
Absolutely! Family sessions are some of my favorite days. Whether it’s a big extended crew with grandparents in town or a quiet golden hour walk with your littles, I’ll capture the real moments, not just the posed ones.
Do you offer maternity photography in Charleston?
Yes! I love capturing that season with a maternity session, whether it’s soft and simple at home or golden hour outdoors. I also offer my “Oh, Baby” collection, which bundles your maternity session with your newborn session so we’re building that story together from bump to babe.
What about newborn sessions, and when should I book?
I photograph in-home newborn sessions, no studio needed, just your home, your baby, and good light. I recommend booking two to four months before your due date since newborn dates fill up fast, and I always build in flexibility since babies arrive on their own schedule.
Do you offer engagement sessions in Charleston?
I do! Engagement sessions are such a fun way to get comfortable in front of the camera before the wedding, and I love finding a spot around Charleston that actually feels like you two, whether that’s downtown, the beach, or somewhere a little more off the beaten path.
