LeeAnn did such a beautiful job planning her wedding. LeeAnn and Justin got married under a gorgeous big Oak Tree at The Confederate Home and College in Charleston, SC. The Confederate Home and College, a cherished institution in Charleston, was built circa 1800. Their wedding day was was just beaming with romance. I love that they chose to hang twinkling lights from the tree. It added such a dynamic element to their photos and just had me swooning!
LeeAnn did such a beautiful job planning her wedding. LeeAnn and Justin got married under a gorgeous big Oak Tree at The Confederate Home and College in Charleston, SC. The Confederate Home and College, a cherished institution in Charleston, was built circa 1800. Their wedding day was was just beaming with romance. I love that they chose to hang twinkling lights from the tree. It added such a dynamic element to their photos and just had me swooning! It felt like a sweet fairytale. Her Bridesmaid wore floor length blush gowns, which paired so perfectly with the men's dark suits. Justin is a big baseball fan so LeeAnn had a special cake made just for him. They also had their ring bearer walk down the aisle with a catchers mitt in lieu of a ring pillow. I love that she incorporated something that was important to her groom in such a creative and unique way. I loved getting to document this sweet couple's wedding day. I didn't get the chance to meet LeeAnn before her wedding day since it was a destination wedding for them, but I walked into the salon where they were getting married and immediately felt like part of the family! The girls at Gibson Hair and Makeup did an awesome job creating the soft romantic hair/makeup looks for their wedding day. It's a gorgeous salon in the downtown area.
I love that LeeAnn and Justin chose to do a First Look. I am such a fan of first looks because it really gives the Bride and Groom a chance to see each and have a special moment alone before all of the fast paced wedding festivities begin. I know some Brides get nervous that if they opt to do a First Look that it will take away from the moment where your groom sees you walk down the aisle but I really believe that it's a whole other special and emotional moment in itself. If you're still on the fence about whether or not you want to do one, talk with your photographer and get their opinion. It really makes for such a beautiful moment.
After the ceremony we explored around the nearby streets around the Confederate Home for the group and Bride and Groom photos. I love the cobblestone road that this venue sits on. Its quintessential Charleston.

Natalie and Jake got married under some gorgeous trees at the Rose Hill Colleton Point Pavilion in Bluffton, SC. Bluffton is a little town right outside of Hilton Head Island, SC. This venue was brimming with gorgeous oak trees and is right on the water. We were blessed with some INCREDIBLE light.
| Cana is a Wedding + Portrait photographer based in Charleston, SC. | When Natalie contacted me about photographing her vintage DIY wedding I knew we were going to be a great fit! We met and talked for over an hour about her wedding plans. She did just about everything herself. All the gorgeous details you see were all done by her. One of my favorite details were the wedding programs that she printed on brown paper bags. She printed the programs from her home computer and it's a great alternative to regular programs. She used the bags to serve popcorn to her guests during the ceremony. I love it. It gives the programs a purpose!

I don't know that I've ever seen a prettier day. The weather was gorgeous and the sun was beaming. We stole away from the reception for a few minutes at sunset to take a few photos during sunset. That golden light makes me swoon!
Check out what they decided to do for their bar. It was a self-serve station! What a wonderful budget saving idea. They set up a station with various wines, a mixed drink and non-alcoholic beverages. Natalie is the queen of DIY weddings. Every detail was gorgeous and so well done. Take a look threw their gallery and get some great southern-vintage DIY wedding ideas and inspiration.

I am so excited to be sharing some sweet moments from my first 2015 wedding! Denise and Adam got married at the Historic Rice Mill in Charleston, SC. on a gorgeous and bright spring day! Adam gets major bonus points for the wedding day gift he picked out for his bride. A gorgeous bracelet from Tiffany and Co. #bestfinaceever. One of my absolute favorite moments from their wedding day was their first look at White Point Gardens. They got a moment to see each other, love on one another and just bask in the few last few moments before becoming husband and wife. I don't think I've ever seen a bride with a smile as bright as Denise when she saw Adam. The incredible ladies from Sweetgrass Social worked with Denise and Adam to perfectly plan and coordinate their wedding day. If you're still looking for a wedding planner for your big day, I recommend these ladies highly! I was also in love with the florals done by Branch Studio and Design. They were so romantic and bright! Congratulations to the sweetest couple. So happy for you both!
