What a beautiful thing marriage is. It's a commitment to love another soul in the deepest way - forever and completely unconditionally. Danielle and Mike declared that commitment of lifelong love before their family and friends on a glorious spring afternoon at St John Beloved Catholic Church. With a beautiful wedding reception at The Harbour Club in Downtown Charleston, SC.
Their wedding decor was Kate Spade inspired - classic, with pops of bright florals all around. And while the decor was cheery and beautiful, Danielle put her own personal touches to her wedding day. Instead of a cake, Danielle and Mike decided to have homemade cookies for their guests, which was very special, particularly to Danielle, as it held a lot of sentiment. Danielle's great grandmother was always known for her Christmas cookies, and since she passed away recently, Danielle wanted to honor her great granny in this way on her wedding day. She also wore a piece of jewelry on her wedding day that belonged to her great grandmother. What a sweet way to honor her memory on their most special day!
Along with the DIY details that Danielle put together, they also incorporated several of their local Etsy vendors into their wedding details, such as the bridesmaids' jewelry, the can koozies and the thumbprint tree that served as their guest book.
Everyone danced, made smores (I mean, what could be better than a smores table at your reception?!), laughed and celebrated this new union of love. And as the sun set, we headed to the roof, where we took some time to snap some romantic pictures, basking in the breathtaking sunset.
Congratulations Danielle & Mike! May your love grow deeper with each day that God gives you!

Legare Waring House Wedding // Taryn + Andrew
From the attire to the venue, the simple rustic chic decor and gorgeous greenery to the laid back vibes, it was a southern wedding to remember. The air was filled with sweet melodies, and there were nothing but smiles all around. What a joy it was for me to witness the couple's family and friends that traveled to this beautiful town to witness the most special day of Taryn and Andrew's lives.
Legare Waring House Wedding // Taryn + Andrew
Charleston is one of the most popular wedding destinations in the country. Every weekend, people travel from near and far to say their "I do's" under the lowcountry's beautiful oaks, draped with moss and drenched in sunshine. Taryn and Andrew picked the perfect destination for their wedding, at the Legare Waring House, and there couldn't have been a more beautiful day. The air was unusually crisp for a May afternoon, and all were in agreement that Taryn and Andrew's big day was stunning in every way.
The couple met in college, and it was fate! To give them some time to reflect on their love for each other in a simple setting, they met under an oak tree, where they had their "First Look", and after the big reveal, they expressed how overjoyed they were that they made the decision to have one. Taryn was excited that they had more time to spend with friends and family throughout the day, and the focus was on being in the moment, rather than rushing to get great shots before we ran out of light. I love when couples decide to have a "First Look" because it not only relieves A LOT of stress for them on their big day, but it also is such a special time of one on one time with the love of your life before you commit publicly to love each other forever. It most certainly is special to have a few private moments to share that bond together.

Vanessa + Tim | Pepper Plantation Wedding
Every time I photograph a wedding I am reminded a little more why I love what I do. Vanessa and Tim's wedding was such a sweet reminder of how blessed I am to do what I love. This beautiful couple got married on a gorgeous November day at The Pavilion Pepper Plantation right before the most amazing Sunset.

Their portraits under the big oak tree, at sunset, are some of my favorites I've taken. At one point Tim stopped and danced with his bride under the Big Oak and it was pure sweetness. SWOON.
I loved that Vanessa had a hand in every little detail. She made a way for her wedding details to be personal and special to the two of them. She bought a ton of plain glassware, candle holders, birds, etc. and spray painted for weeks. She made her own gold "mercury glass" with a method she discovered on her own, with the help of her sister (and maid of honor ), while Tim watched and laughed often! The couple's dear friend, Ashley Knox, painted the bird painting for their "guest book" frame. It was also important to Tim and Vanessa that their special friends make a speech. They had fun teasing each other for weeks about whose would be better, funnier or make them cry the most! Vanessa shared with me that it was most special to her that Tim's mother and sister got ready and prepped with her and her bridal party, by their Glam Squad, with them that day. Vanessa's Great Uncle Glenn catered their amazing dinner as a gift to them, and their dear friend Melodie created the gorgeous cheese table for cocktail hour. It was so heartwarming to see how surrounded by love and support they were by their great friends and family on their special day.
Here are some of my favorite moments from their perfect wedding day.

Kelsey + Peter | Wickliffe House Wedding
Kelsey and Peter got married at The Wickliffe House early this Fall. Built in 1850 the Wickliffe House is a gracious mansion located in the Radcliffboro neighborhood in downtown Charleston. I got a chance to get to know this beautiful couple during their Engagement session we did earlier this year.

I got a chance to get to know this beautiful couple during their Engagement session we did earlier this year. Their Wickliffe House wedding day was so perfect and I feel so honored that I got to be there to document it. I am so glad that they opted for a "First Look" because it gave us the chance to do all of their portraits ahead of time. It worked out perfectly because we ended up getting rain right after the ceremony. But we still got to take some romantic pictures in the rain! I love when my couples embrace the rain and still venture out with those big clear umbrellas to take a few photos. Enjoy a few of my favorite images from their wedding day. Congratulations Kelsey and Peter!
